32-bit 2540-96 Skilled Nursing Facility Software

Our software is approved for the latest CMS 2540-96 Transmittal 18 forms and is backward compatible to the beginning of the 2540-96 form set (6/30/1996 fiscal year end and after).

CMS 2540-96 Transmittal 18 must be used for cost reporting periods ending on or after 10/01/2010.
All resubmitted or amended cost reports are required to be submitted on the latest CMS approved software.

Please note that files created using this software are not compatible with the 16-bit version of the software. However, you can open your 16-bit files with the 32-bit software and still have them work with the 16-bit version.
We recommend that you keep a backup of your original files before using them with the beta version.

What's New and Different

This section describes some of the main differences between this, and previous versions of the Health Financial Systems Cost Report Software. Every attempt has been made to make the software look and feel like previous versions, while adding enhancements to make the software more flexible, powerful and easier to use. Below are just a few software enhancements. See the software manual for more information about what's new and different.

• Long File Names - You are no longer limited to an 8 character file name. File names can now be up to 256 characters in length (including the file extension, which is still reserved for HFS).

• Open Multiple Files - You are no longer limited to opening one cost report file at a time. You can open several cost reports in one session of the HFS software and switch between them by clicking on the drop down box in the bottom right of your screen.

• Check for Updates - If you have Internet access, you can now update your software without having to go to the HFS web site. Simply click on the Check for Updates option and the system will check for any available updates to your software.
