Some clients have reported problems receiving software updates through our Check for Updates service within the MCRIF32 software.
If you are receiving error messages similar to the one shown above and are using version 1.3.1.7 or earlier of the updater (not the software),
you can download version 1.3.1.8 of the updater to see if it will resolve your updating problems.
Follow these steps: (Make sure your MCRIF32 software is closed and that you are installing this from your browser.)
- Get the version 1.3.1.8 of the update program:
- Click here to get the new program. (this is a self-extracting zip file with the new program)
- Click RUN at BOTH prompts you see (or OPEN on Windows 2000).
- By default, this will want to extract the program to C:\MCRIF32.
IMPORTANT:If your MCRIF32 software is not located in that folder, change the folder name to where your software is installed.
- Click the Unzip button.
- Start the MCRIF32 software.
- In the MCRIF32 software, click on Check for Updates (Help menu or Task Pane).
- Log in at the prompt.
- If you successfully logged in, you will see some updates available (if updates are available).
Click the Install button.
Because of the volume of clients updating their software at the same time, our server has not been able to keep up with the demand.
Therefore, we have added additional servers to provide you with the updates. If one of our servers is too busy to deliver your updates
the updater will automatically switch to a different server. This process should be transparent to you, giving you a more reliable
update service.
