32-bit Software Now Available!

We are excited to announce the release of our upgraded 32-bit software! We've been working hard to upgrade our 16-bit products to be more compatible with today's 32-bit Windows software environment. Currently, we have completed software upgrades and officially released six of our Medicare Cost Report products. Two more products are currently in BETA, two are under development and a new CMS form-set, 2552-10, is scheduled for development in 2010.

If you are currently licensed for any of the 16-bit products, you will automatically be licensed for the corresponding 32-bit product once it is released, including BETA versions. When a BETA version is released, feel free to use it but do not use it to submit your cost report. BETA versions are not CMS approved for submitting reports; they are for your review and provide us with an opportunity to receive your feedback. As always, we welcome your feedback!

What's New and Different

This section describes some of the main differences between this, and previous versions of the Health Financial Systems Cost Report Software. Every attempt has been made to make the software look and feel like previous versions, while adding enhancements to make the software more flexible, powerful and easier to use. Below are just a few software enhancements. See the software manual for more information about what's new and different.

• Long File Names - You are no longer limited to an 8 character file name. File names can now be up to 256 characters in length (including the file extension, which is still reserved for HFS).

• Open Multiple Files - You are no longer limited to opening one cost report file at a time. You can open several cost reports in one session of the HFS software and switch between them by clicking on the drop down box in the bottom right of your screen.

• Check for Updates - If you have Internet access, you can now update your software without having to go to the HFS web site. Simply click on the Check for Updates option and the system will check for any available updates to your software.
